On Thursday the 24th of April, the Generation Hope Group from St. Andrews & St. Brides secondary school ran an amazing retreat day for their fellow pupils.
The group decided to plan a retreat after watching the ‘Faith in Action’ episode of the Generation Hope Video Series. In the episode they heard from Mary’s Meals and Generation Hope founder, Magnus MacFarlane-Barrow, who spoke about the importance of our Christian faith going beyond the words we speak and that it is something that should be seen in our actions. After being given a challenge of carrying out an act of charity together as a group, they decided that they wanted to put on a retreat for the students in their school who haven't been to our summer camps so that they might share in their experience.
In the weeks leading up to the retreat, the girls gathered together at our lunch club to plan and organise the day. They picked the content, selected the worship songs, decided on the games and chose their roles. To promote the event, they spoke to all the registration classes in their year and created posters to put around the school.

On the day itself, they each did an amazing job! They MC’d, led games, set up activities, ran a bake sale and participated in the sessions. Before a time of adoration, one of the group shared her testimony and spoke on the impact Generation Hope has had on her faith.
Their inspiring desire to share their experiences with their friends and classmates was wonderful to see and we are so grateful for all the hard work they put into making it happen! Our team supported the day alongside the group and some missionaries from Net Scotland.
Thank you girls for a fantastic day!
